Getting Started Beta
Open HqO Admin on the go in your phone's browser, sign in with your existing HqO Admin account, and add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
Overview
There's nothing to install from the App Store or Google Play. HqO Admin on the go is a web app: you open a URL, sign in once, and your session persists so you don't have to sign in again every time you pick up your phone.
đ§Ș Beta: HqO Admin on the go is in beta. See the Overview for what's included and which roles grant access.
â ïž Note: If your organization is on HqO's European (FFM) region â the one that uses
ffm.gohqo.cofor desktop HqO Admin â the mobile admin isn't available yet. It's planned atapp-ffm.hqo.com. Ask your HqO account team which region you're on.
- On your phone, open your browser and go to app.hqo.com â the address for HqO's North American region.
- Enter the email and password you use for HqO Admin.
- Tap Sign in.
You'll land on the dashboard. Your session is remembered, so returning to the app later usually skips the sign-in screen entirely.
â ïž Note: The beta sign-in screen accepts an email and password. If your organization signs in to HqO Admin through single sign-on, contact your HqO account team before rolling the mobile app out to your team. See Single Sign-On (SSO).
If you land here and realize you need the full admin experience, the sign-in screen links out to the desktop admin panel.
Add it to your home screen
Adding the app to your home screen gives you a tappable icon and a full-screen view without the browser's address bar â useful when you're running an event door for an hour.
On iPhone (Safari)
- Open app.hqo.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Name it something short â HqO Admin works well â and tap Add.
On Android (Chrome)
- Open app.hqo.com in Chrome.
- Tap the âź menu in the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen, then confirm.
đĄ Tip: Check-in shifts drain batteries. If you're scanning QR codes at a door, plug in or bring a battery pack â the camera and the live attendee list both keep the screen awake.
The dashboard
The first screen after sign-in greets you by name and shows a rollup of what's happening across the areas your roles cover:
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Events | The next few upcoming events, with a shortcut into check-in |
| Communications | Your most recent communications |
| Service Requests | A rollup of open requests |
Two behaviors worth knowing:
- Sections you can't access never appear. The dashboard is assembled from your roles, so two colleagues in the same building can see different dashboards.
- Sections with content sort to the top. A section that resolves to genuinely empty sinks to the bottom, so the things needing your attention stay above the fold.
Finding your way around
| Control | Where it is | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Quick action bar | Fixed along the bottom of the screen | Jump between Home, Comms, Service Requests, and Events with one thumb |
| + button | Center of the bottom bar | Opens shortcuts to Create Service Request and Schedule Communication |
| Menu | Top left (â°) | Opens the full navigation drawer, including sub-items like Send Communication and New Service Request |
| HqO logo | Top left, beside the menu | Returns you to the dashboard |
| Light mode / Dark mode | In the user menu (tap your avatar) | Switches between light and dark appearance |
| Your avatar | Top right | Opens the user menu: appearance, language, and sign out |
The quick action bar and the menu both show only the areas your roles grant, so what you see is what you can act on.
Change the app's language
HqO Admin on the go can show its interface in twelve languages. The setting lives in the user menu behind your avatar and applies to the device you're on.
- Tap your avatar in the top right.
- Tap Language.
- Tap the language you want. A checkmark shows which one is in use.
The screen redraws in the new language straight away â there's nothing to save, and you don't need to sign out and back in.
| Language | How it appears in the menu |
|---|---|
| English | English |
| Dutch | Nederlands |
| French (Canada) | Français (Canada) |
| French | Français |
| German | Deutsch |
| Hungarian | Magyar |
| Italian | Italiano |
| Norwegian (BokmÄl) | Norsk bokmÄl |
| Polish | Polski |
| Portuguese | PortuguĂȘs |
| Slovak | SlovenÄina |
| Spanish | Español |
đĄ Tip: Each language is listed under its own name, so Norwegian appears as Norsk bokmĂ„l rather than "Norwegian".
â ïž Note: Your choice is remembered on that device for a year, not saved to your HqO account. Switching language on your phone doesn't change desktop HqO Admin, a different phone starts in the default language, and clearing your browser data resets it.
Sign out
Tap your avatar in the top right, then tap Log out. This clears your session on that device â worth doing on a shared or borrowed phone.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| "You do not have permission to access this feature" | Your account doesn't hold a role that grants that area. See Roles you need. |
| An area you expected is missing from the menu | Either your roles don't grant it, or it hasn't been enabled for your organization yet during the beta. |
| You're sent back to the sign-in screen | Your session expired. Sign in again. |
| A list won't load | Check your signal, then tap Try again. Requests, communications, and attendee lists all offer a retry rather than losing your place. |
If none of the above explains what you're seeing, reach out through Contact Support.
