Create and manage promotional discount codes for resource bookings and purchases.
Overview
Discounts lets you define percentage-based promotions that apply to bookings and purchases in the HqO app. You can target specific audiences, schedule active periods, and monitor which discounts are live, upcoming, or expired.
Discounts are organized into two tabs: Scheduled & Active shows current and upcoming promotions; Expired keeps a historical record.
Getting started
You can create a discount immediately from the Discounts page. No prior configuration is required.
🔒 Permission required: Creating and managing discounts requires Commerce permissions in HqO Admin.
Tabs

| Scheduled & Active | Discounts that are currently live or scheduled to activate |
| Expired | Past discounts that are no longer in effect |
Discount fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Discount Name | Internal name for the promotion |
| Type | What the discount applies to (e.g., Resource booking) |
| Start Date | When the discount becomes active |
| End Date | When the discount deactivates |
| Percentage | The discount value as a percentage off the total price |
| Audience | The user segment eligible for the discount |
| Status | Active or Inactive |
Core workflows
Create a discount
- Go to HqO Admin > Commerce > Discounts.
- Click Create discount.
- Enter the discount name and select the type (e.g., Resource booking).
- Set the start and end dates.
- Enter the discount percentage.
- Select the target audience and buildings where the discount applies.
- Click Save. The discount appears in Scheduled & Active once the start date is reached.
Deactivate a discount early
- Find the discount in the Scheduled & Active tab.
- Click the discount row.
- Change the Status to Inactive or set the end date to today.
- Click Save.
View expired discounts
- Click the Expired tab.
- Review past promotions for reference or reporting.
FAQ
Can a discount apply to specific resources only? Discount targeting depends on your configuration. Currently, discounts can be scoped by type (e.g., all resource bookings) and audience. For more granular targeting, contact your HqO account team.
Can tenants combine multiple discounts? No. Only one discount applies per transaction. The system applies the best eligible discount automatically.
How do tenants use a discount? Eligible discounts apply automatically at checkout in the HqO app when the tenant meets the audience and date criteria. No code entry is required.
