Commerce / Taxes — Production view
Configure tax rates and rules for commerce transactions at each building.
Overview
The Taxes page lets you define the tax rates that apply to resource bookings and product purchases in the HqO app. Tax rules are set at the building level, so each property can have its own configuration to match local requirements.
A bulk application wizard is available to apply a consistent tax setup across multiple properties at once.
Getting started
Configure taxes before publishing products or enabling bookings so that pricing shown to tenants is accurate. Tax settings take effect immediately after saving.
🔒 Permission required: Configuring tax rates requires Commerce permissions in HqO Admin.
Configuration
The Taxes page shows a card for each building, with its configuration status (Not configured or configured) and a Configure button. A bulk setup option at the top lets you apply a consistent tax configuration across multiple buildings at once.

FAQ
Can different resource types have different tax rates? Yes. Configure separate tax rules for bookings and products within each building.
What happens to existing transactions if I change a tax rate? Tax rate changes apply to new transactions only. Existing transaction records retain the rate that was active at the time of purchase.
Do I need to configure taxes before going live? Yes. If no tax configuration is set, transactions may be processed without tax, which can cause compliance issues. Configure taxes before publishing any commerce features.
