Assign and manage a virtual credit currency that tenants use to pay for services and resource bookings.
Overview
Credits is a building-level virtual currency system. Your property team assigns credit balances to tenants, and tenants spend them through the HqO app on resource bookings and other eligible services. Credits can have expiration dates, letting you run time-limited programs or seasonal promotions.
The dashboard summarizes credit distribution and usage at a glance, and the Credits Management tab lets you manage balances per tenant.
Getting started
Credits must be enabled for your building before they appear in the app. Contact your HqO account team to activate the Credits feature. Once enabled, you can assign balances immediately.

Dashboard metrics

Core workflows
Assign credits to a tenant
- Go to HqO Admin > Commerce > Credits.
- Click the Credits management tab.
- Click Assign credits (top right button).
- Select the tenant, enter the credit amount, and set an expiration date if applicable.
- Add an optional description (e.g., "Q2 amenity credits").
- Click Save. The tenant's balance updates immediately.
View a tenant's credit balance
- Go to the Credits Management tab.
- Find the tenant in the list. Their current balance, expiration date, and description are shown in the row.
Review credit usage
- Click the Usage report tab.
- Filter by date range and tenant to see how credits are being spent.
FAQ
What can tenants spend credits on? Tenants can use credits toward resource bookings and other services you've configured as credit-eligible. Eligible items are set up during your HqO Commerce configuration.
Do credits expire? Credits expire only if you set an expiration date when assigning them. Credits without an expiration date remain active until spent.
Can I take credits back from a tenant? Yes. Edit the tenant's credit balance from the Credits Management tab and adjust the amount downward.
What happens when a tenant's credits expire? Expired credits are removed from the tenant's balance and cannot be used. They remain visible in usage history for reporting purposes.
