HqO

Localization

HqO native applications default to the device or application Preferred Language setting to determine what language to use, so each user gets the language that works best for them.

Supported languages

  • English (US)
  • English (UK)
  • French (France)
  • French (Canada)
  • German
  • Dutch
  • Spanish
  • Norwegian
  • Italian
  • Portuguese

Static content localization

Static content is the text within the mobile, web, and admin applications that isn't user-generated. HqO localizes this content and ensures its availability in all supported languages.

User-generated content localization

Admins can create localized versions of the content they author. The following content types support localization:

  • Utility button names
  • Content categories
  • Content
  • Events
  • Services
  • Surveys
  • Amenities
  • Resource details

Localizing user-generated content

  1. Locate the translation section for the content type.
  2. Click Change.
  3. Select another language. You'll only see languages enabled for the selected site.
  4. Click Change translation, then Proceed.

HqO shares the user's language preference with third-party integrations using standard language tags: a primary sub-code identifying the language (e.g., en) and a secondary sub-code for the national variety (e.g., us or gb).

Example link-out URL construction: [partner url]?lang=en-us

  • Buildings β€” set the language(s) enabled for each building
  • Content β€” author content that can be localized
